Tree Swallows

As part of my residency, I had the opportunity to work with the Vitousek Lab to create a suite of both vector and raster images featuring Tree Swallows and the equipment used to study them.

The first set of illustrations were created as digital paintings to depict the plumage of Tree Swallows including differences in plumage based on sex and maturity. The final painting, seen to the left, was dubbed "the glam shot" illustrating the gorgeous iridescence seen in this species.

 

The second set of images were created as vector to illustrate the lifecycle of tree swallows as well as the equipment used to study them.
