Cornell Lab of Ornithology - Freelance Illustrator - May 2024-June 2024
Created original watercolor artwork to accompany an article in Living Bird magazine highlighting the importance of native plants. Worked directly with the editorial team and art director to design a garden painting showcasing native plants and birds across North America. Delivered cleaned digital scans ready for print.
Sabrina McNew , US - Science Illustrator - July 2023-September 2023
Created digital vector illustrations of Galapagos Finch species as well as digital paintings illustrating
the symptoms of bird pox in Northern Mockingbirds. Bird pox illustrations included one overall painting of the full bird and two spot illustrations of the foot.
Bartels Science Illustrator Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Ithaca, NY - Science Illustrator - January 2022-December 2022
Selected from over 200 applicants for the Bartels Science Illustrator Residency at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Worked directly with researchers and staff to create artwork for departments across the lab. Attended weekly editorial team meetings and produced artwork for Living Bird Magazine. Acted as a teaching assistant for the undergraduate class The Art and Science of Birds and designed lessons, workshops and tutorials for students and visitors to the lab.
Buoy Health, Boston, MA - Medical Illustrator - October 2020-September 2021
Working directly with art director to create original medical illustrations for Buoy Health, an online symptom checker and diagnostics platform driven by artificial intelligence. Illustrations are made using a combination of traditional and digital media which are then checked by the Buoy Medical team for anatomical and medical accuracy. The images are then displayed alongside articles on the Buoy Health website.
New York Botanical Garden, New York, NY - Botanical Illustrator/Graphic Designer - 2019-2022
Working directly with Dr. Kate Armstrong on her publication project The Medicinal Flora of Myanmar. Creating original illustrations of fruits, flowers and leaves of various plants included in the book for which there are no available photographs. To be used as a field guide for medicinal plants in the region. Designing photo plates using photographs and illustrations.
American Museum of Natural History, New York, NY - Scientific Illustrator - December 2020-April 2021
Worked directly with Dr. David Grimaldi, a researcher in entomology, to digitally render graphite drawings of fruit fly anatomy to be used in a thesis research publication.
Glority Software, China - Botanical Illustrator - April 2020-August 2020
Created nearly 40 original watercolor botanical illustrations to be used for a printed planner/calendar sold to users of the Glority Software App Picture This, a plant identifying app, in China. Worked directly with the art team to create anatomically accurate botanical illustrations and delivered print-ready digital files for use by Glority Software.
Dr. Christine Heisler, US - Medical Illustrator - November 2020-December 2020
Created original pen and ink illustrations of various anatomies and surgical techniques to be used in a medical research publication. Studied illustrations and photographs provided by Dr. Heisler to produce specific images related to the research being published.

Nature Journaling Workshop, Bedford, NY - Workshop Instructor - January 2025
Working with the Bedford Garden Club to design and indoor nature journaling workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to sketch from natural objects and learn techniques for starting a nature journal. Particpants will also have instruction for basic drawing principles.

Teaching beginning and advanced watercolor classes for adults. Designing lesson plans and assignments and providing feedback for students to continue and improve their watercolor practice.

Designed and leading a three class series of adult art workshops. These workshops focus on drawing and painting birds and include lessons on bird anatomy.
